I believe that Art must be provoking in order to explore our emotion for things we consider Evil, Good or just neutral or unimportant.
Example? Some years ago a German sureal artist had an exhibition in Denmark that was called Goldfish in blenders, needless to say people where´in chok, but the whole conscept wasn't to tortur and mutilate Goldfish, to death.

He gave the people a choice. The exhibition consisted of blenders with goldfish in them, and big red buttons, that the people who where at the exhibition could press, and voila one piece of blended Goldfish art... Of course it was grotesque and disturbing, to think that people where actually blending Goldfish, (to this day it gives me shiwers down my spine) but in the end he didn't do anything wrong, he just gave people a choice.

People, the press and media of course went nuts about.

What this experiment showed was, that people no matter what, always stand with the choice to do what ever they want, and that people are capable of harming living beings on purpose for no other reason than for their own amusement.

It goes to show that many people learned something from this. Human nature.

I myself made inapropiate art just to see if people really believe that pixels on a pc screen really could threaten your worldview, it seems that people believing in religion strongly also believe everything drawn out of the mind, of other people's heads. "One would think that the divine creator had better things to do than watching who is drawing who?" Quote taken from my first poem.
